Fungi on a tree stump in the back garden.


Most fungi are annuals that show their fruiting bodies in the autumn but some can be found at other times of year. There are also perennial fungi like these bracket ones which form attractive layers on rotting wood.

  2. The sky is falling in!! My father just blogged and didn't give a species name (or alternatively mention that he didn't know the species name). I'm alarmed!

  3. OK, Sorry. I felt guilty when I posted it but I was just too lazy. I believe it is Trametes hirsuta but I cannot guarantee it.
