Tuesday 20th December 2011

After Eights have become a traditional part of our Christmas treats.

A dressed Goose

Monday 19th December 2011

Some people will be dressing their goose for Christmas - so have we, but not quite in the same way.

Christmas Tree

Sunday 18th December 2011

I put the tree up today.

Christmas tree 'needles'

Saturday 17th December 2011

Modern artificial trees are so realistic they even drop 'needles' while you are erecting them!

One of the toys off David's baby bouncer seat.

Some new saucepans

Thursday 15th December 2011

Jo and I have invested in some much needed new saucepans with a contribution from GB for my birthday.  They are almost too nice to use!

Chuckler

Wednesday 14th December 2011

This is Chuckler - a pencil holder that Jo has had for many years.  It was funny to see him sitting in the background of some of the videos of when Richard was a baby.

Transferring videos

Wednesday 13th December 2011

This morning I transferred some old videos of family occasions onto DVD.  Unfortunately the video player has packed up and they cost an absolute fortune to replace so the rest of the transferring will have to wait unless we can get one from a charity shop.

Nana's vase

Monday 12th December 2011

A little glass vase that belonged to my grandmother and may even have been her mother's.  Unfortunately, if the metal was ever plated it has lost its plating.

Jo's cat

Sunday 11th December 2011

This was Jo's first birthday present from Bryony and Helen after she and I started going out together in 1987.

A Double Florin

Saturday 10th December 2012

This Double Florin (Four shillings - 20p in new money) was given to me by Uncle Wardie (James William Warden Spencer) when I was tiny.

Cherry leaves after a gale

Tuesday 22nd November 2011

My last photo for a few weeks as my migraines got worse and worse.  The wind last night brought down a fence panel and all the leaves from the Cherry.

Migraine

Monday 21st November 2011

A visit to the acupuncturist and the start of a 13 day long migrainer - a record, even for me.

Richard's Books

Tuesday 15th November 2011

One or two of Richard's favourite books when he was young.  I couldn't bring myself to throw them away so they are back up in the loft.

Coral

Monday 14th November 2011

This is part of a piece of coral that my grandmother used to have under a glass dome with other natural history items.  I can't recall what else was with it - perhaps GB can?

Bamboo

Sunday 13th November 2011

Jo bought another lucky bamboo in Hoylake recently.

A new bird feeder

Saturday 12th November 2011

Jo bought a new bird feeder designed to keep thr Wood Pigeons and squirrels from pinching all the small birds' food.  If the large birds have as much difficulty getting into it as \i had putting it together it should work fine.

P.S. The squirrels not only got in it but found it useful as it helped to shelter them from the rain and hail!

Nana's tea set

Thursday 10th November 2011

Some of the family silver plate is in our loft including this tea set of my grandparents.  I polished it up for the photo and although it has lost some of its plate it looks quite smart.

Helen's Daffs

Wednesday 9th November 2011

As part of the loft sorting I've been looking through all the pictures that are stored up there.  These are part of a picture Helen once did of daffodfils and other flowers.

Ornaments

Thursday 13th October 2011

Part of the objective of sorting the loft was to de-clutter.  Instead I've put up a frame to hold even more of my old ornaments that were in the loft!  C'est la vie.

Thank You

Tuesday 11th October 2011

Jo has a large collection of cards from grateful clients and students. In this respect, if no other, counselling and training are very rewarding.
