A flowering succulent

Usually my cacti and succulents don't flower until around Mother's Day - if they flower at all.  This one decided to choose New Year.

March 14th was Mother's Day in the UK and that is my signal to give the cacti a really good watering.  Then I water regularly once a fortnight for the rest of the spring / summer before letting them rest again over the winter.  This recipe for getting them to flower seems to work when I carry it out properly..
