We had a coffee in Linghams and I rook the opportunity to spend the book tokens I got from Gareth for my birthday. I always have plans to buy certain books and end up buying others. At least spending some money in Linghams makes me feel less guilty at noting down titles I want to put on my Amazon wishlist. Like this one - "Amazing Rare Things".

Meek is very poorly and had a trip to the vet's. At the age of 14 and three quarters he equates to about 75 in human terms and has been FIV positive from birth. The Vet was amazed that he had survived beyond five or six years but he has aged rapidly in the last week.

We went to Birkenhead this morning and I spotted a Citroen Picasso in the car park. I love this signature.

One of my birthday books was "The Mammals of Cheshire". For the last couple of weeks a Grey Squirrel has turned up for its peanuts to keep us amused though it is not recorded in this 2km square – I must send a record in.

My birthday present from Helen and Ian – a wonderful Pollyanna Pickering print of a Snow Leopard and the wherewithal to frame it however I wish. I know where it will be going because I have two ‘big cat’ pictures on the stairs and will rotate them accordingly.
