I had two long walks today so choosing which photo to use was hard. But I'm a sucker for butterflies and just couldn't resist using this photo of a Common Blue.
This Tortoise was very friendly and came up to the glass of his cage to say ‘Hello’ to me. For a tortoise he was very fast and positively tore around his cage.
The sun about to rise at 4.15 a.m.. In fact it never appeared as it went behind the clouds before actually topping the hill on which the houses of Upper Bayble can be seen silhouetted.
I watched Jenson Button in his Brawn-Mercedes win the Turkish Grand Prix on GB's big TV screen.

So far he has won five of the first six grand prix and been on the podium for all of them - only Ascari, Senna and Schumacher have ever done that before. Not bad company to be in.
This was the sort of day when photos from indoors were much more sensible than going outside to be battered by the Force 6 winds and occasional heavy showers.
When the Silver Y moths arrive from abroad they usually do so at the same time as certain other migrants.
As if to prove the rule yesterday's Silver Y's were followed today by a Painted Lady in GB's garden. Like the moths they will have come from the continent. It's amazing to think how far they can travel. And, as soon as they get here, they breed. No jet lag for them.
You may have heard of Project 365 in whic people post a photograph every day for a year. This is my version – the idea is to post a photo taken every day but I am realistic enough to know that there will be a day or two missed during the year.
