Tuesday 2nd June 2009

When the Silver Y moths arrive from abroad they usually do so at the same time as certain other migrants.

As if to prove the rule yesterday's Silver Y's were followed today by a Painted Lady in GB's garden. Like the moths they will have come from the continent. It's amazing to think how far they can travel. And, as soon as they get here, they breed. No jet lag for them.
